The Lutheran Church of the Incarnate Word is a congregation of the Upstate New York Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. We are people gathered weekly around Word and Sacrament who believe that God is not yet done with us. We are people of diverse backgrounds and interests unified by the Holy Spirit beneath the Cross of Christ. We are people who assemble from the city and the suburbs who believe that loving God and loving neighbor are all that matters. Grounded in the rich traditions of liturgical worship and provocative preaching, faithful education and caring traditions, we challenge ourselves daily to reach out to our community in love and servant hood. We challenge ourselves to be “in the city for good.”
We are a Reconciling in Christ congregation which opens wide its doors to people of all sexual orientations and gender identities, their partners, spouses, and their families, and those who may have been excluded because of other distinctions such as race, economic status, ability, age or station in life.
Come with your joys, your tears, your questions and your doubts. Join us on this incredible journey of worship, learning, caring, growing, and serving. All have a place at God’s table of grace!
